Green Lantern Silver Age Comic Books
Green Lantern is an interesting DC comics character and has not hit main stream success outside the comic book world. There was a movie made in 2011 and Ryan Reynolds played Green Lantern. It was not a successful movie for various reasons. Green Lantern is only popular among comic book collectors. This page is dedicated to everything Green Lantern but mostly just the Green Lantern silver age comic books.

Showcase #22
DC Comic Book character Green Lantern first appears in Showcase #22 in October 1959. Showcase #22 is basically Green Lantern’s origin story. Hal Jordan is pilot for Ferris Aircraft company. Green Lantern gets power from a ring that needs to be recharged through a power lamp. Hal Jordan’s power was passed down from another Green Lantern called Abin Sur who crash lands on earth. Green lantern needs to use his new power to combat evil as a space patrolman in a super galactic system. He also learns that his new power has power over everything except it doesn’t work against yellow objects. Carol Ferris is Hal Jordan’s Love interest and her dad owns Ferris Aircraft company. Pieface is Hal Jordan’s mechanic at Ferris Aircraft company.
Green Lantern #7
Green Lantern is one of my favorite DC characters and my favorite issue is #7 with the 1st appearance of Sinestro. Sinestro is Green Lantern’s nemesis but also acts as a friend. Sinestro is very similar to Lando in Star Wars. This makes Sinestro a very complex comic book character. This is why Sinestro is my favorite comic book character. Green Lantern always deals with problems that there are no clear answer to solve.
